₹402 Crore Development Proposals Approved Under Vibrant Villages Programme in Uttarakhand

Dehradun: Development proposals worth around ₹402 crore have been approved for the comprehensive development of border villages in Uttarakhand under the Vibrant Villages Programme.

The approval was granted during a meeting of the State Level Screening Committee (SLSC) held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan.

Under the proposals, several development works will be undertaken in border villages, including tourism housing, village infrastructure, road connectivity, social development facilities, hospitals, sports grounds, smart classrooms, small gym centres, solar street lights and agricultural development projects.

These initiatives are expected to create employment and livelihood opportunities for residents of the border areas and strengthen their economic and social conditions.

The Chief Secretary directed officials to ensure that all works under the scheme are executed with full transparency and high quality standards so that these villages can become model villages for other regions.
