Dehradun: In the cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Pushkar Singh Dhami, 19 important proposals were approved. Several major decisions related to energy conservation, tourism, transport, agriculture, and rural development were taken.
The cabinet decided to implement the “One Officer-One Vehicle” formula. The state government will also soon introduce a new EV policy. Fifty percent of newly purchased government vehicles will mandatorily be electric vehicles, and the EV charging station network across the state will be expanded.
To boost tourism, the “Visit My State” campaign will be launched. Religious, wellness, rural, heritage, and eco-tourism circuits will be widely promoted under the campaign. Approval was also granted to encourage destination weddings and implement a single-window clearance system.
The cabinet also approved proposals related to bed-and-breakfasts and homestays. For mountainous areas, the land consolidation scheme was approved, under which 10 villages in each district will be selected. The goal is to resolve land consolidation-related cases within 120 days.
In agriculture, natural farming, zero-budget farming, and bio-input-based farming will be promoted. Farmers will receive special training, while campaigns will also be conducted to encourage balanced fertilizer use and improve soil quality.
For energy conservation, PNG connections will be expanded in mission mode. Priority will be given to PNG use in hotels, restaurants, and government residences. Rooftop solar projects under the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Scheme will also be promoted.
Chief Minister Dhami said that the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war, and the West Asia crisis have affected global supply systems, which has also impacted India. He stated that in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal, the state government has taken several concrete decisions regarding energy conservation and better utilization of public resources.
