276 Youths Receive Appointment Letters; CM Dhami Says Government Jobs Are Now Based on Merit and Ability

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday distributed appointment letters to 276 selected candidates during a program held at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan in the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. The selected candidates include 109 from the Forest Department, 88 from the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department, 65 from the Technical Education Department, and 14 from the Town and Country Planning Department.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated all the newly appointed candidates and said that receiving an appointment letter is not merely an achievement but the beginning of a new responsibility toward public service. He noted that the youths had attained this success after years of hard work, struggle, and perseverance.

The Chief Minister stated that the state government has taken several important measures to make recruitment processes transparent, fair, and accountable. To curb cheating mafias and corruption, a strict anti-cheating law has been implemented in the state. As a result, merit and capability are now the sole criteria for selection in government jobs.

He further said that over the past four and a half years, nearly 33,000 young people have been recruited into government services through transparent recruitment procedures. He urged the newly selected employees to prioritize public service with honesty, sensitivity, and dedication to duty.

The Chief Minister added that the candidates selected for the Town and Country Planning Department would contribute to the planned development of the state, while those appointed in the Technical Education Department would help advance technical education and skill development. Candidates selected for the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department will work toward maternal and child welfare initiatives, while Forest Department personnel will play a vital role in conserving forest resources and biodiversity.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is progressing toward the goal of a Developed India by 2047, and Uttarakhand is also moving rapidly forward with its vision of becoming a developed state. Infrastructure expansion, investment, and employment opportunities are continuously increasing across the state.

The program was attended by Cabinet Ministers Subodh Uniyal, Dhan Singh Rawat, Rekha Arya, and Khajan Das; Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal; MLA Savita Kapoor; and senior officials from various departments.
