Dehradun: The 3rd Pravasi Uttarakhandi Divas Sammelan in the state will be organized on November 13 at the Nityanand Auditorium of Doon University. Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu held a meeting with concerned officials at the Secretariat on Wednesday regarding preparations for the conference. Giving instructions to make the conference international in standard, youth-centric, and innovative, he said that meaningful dialogue should be established with non-resident Uttarakhandis to leverage their experiences and suggestions for the state’s development.
The meeting discussed the successful organization of the conference, publicity efforts, and ensuring the participation of non-resident Uttarakhandis living in various states and cities across the country. The Principal Secretary directed officials to identify and invite non-resident Uttarakhandis working in different fields. He emphasized that the conference should not be limited to a mere formal event; rather, the experiences, ideas, and contributions of the diaspora should prove useful in the state’s development.
Officials informed the meeting that the registration process for the conference has commenced. The Principal Secretary asked for a detailed outline of the event to be prepared within a week and to update on the progress of preparations in three to four days. He also instructed to run a broad publicity campaign through media, advertisements, hoardings, and social media platforms.
Instructions were given to ensure timely arrangements for the arrival, transportation, lodging, and food for invited guests at the conference. Directions were issued to complete preparations for the inaugural session, various thematic sessions, and cultural programs within the set timeline. Emphasis was also laid on maintaining cleanliness, access roads, and traffic arrangements at the venue.
During the conference, short films based on the state government’s development works, schemes, and policies will be screened so that non-resident Uttarakhandis can learn about ongoing development projects in the state. The Principal Secretary directed concerned departments to complete all arrangements on time through mutual coordination.
The meeting was attended by Secretaries Shailesh Bagooli, Vinod Kumar Suman, C. Ravishankar, Rajendra Kumar; Vice-Chancellor of Doon University Prof. Surekha Dangwal; Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah; Member of Uttarakhand Pravasi Cell Sudhir Chandra Nautiyal; Deputy Director Information Badri Chand; and other concerned officials.
