60 kg of honey extracted at CM residence, Chief Minister directs development of 3-B Garden

Dehradun: Honey extraction work was carried out at the Chief Minister’s residence premises on Tuesday. In the first phase, about 60 kilograms of honey was extracted. During this time, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami instructed officials of the Horticulture Department to work towards developing a 3-B Garden in and around the CM residence premises.

The Chief Minister said that under the 3-B Garden concept, Bee-friendly, Butterfly-friendly, and Bird-friendly gardens will be developed. This will promote biodiversity and also encourage beekeeping.

He stated that Uttarakhand has immense potential for beekeeping. The state has a wide variety of flowering species available in abundance, which provide a favorable environment for producing high-quality organic honey. He added that people in mountainous areas should be encouraged to produce honey rich in medicinal properties, which can also increase rural incomes.

On this occasion, Horticulture In-charge Deepak Purohit and Chairman of Devbhoomi Mountain Village Industries Development Institute, Herbertpur, Ajay Kumar Saini were also present.
