Dehradun: Guidelines have been issued for admission of children in schools under the Right to Education Act. Not only this, the responsibility of the Chief Education Officer and Block Education Officers has also been fixed in case of violation of Right to Education. Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat today held a review meeting of the officials while discussing its compliance under the Right to Education Act. In this, instructions were issued to strictly follow the Right to Education Act.
Under the Right to Education Act, procrastination in the admission of students in schools can now not only become a problem for the schools. But senior officials of the education department can also get into trouble. Today, Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat held a review meeting of the officials for compliance of RTE. During this, on one hand, the status till now regarding compliance of Right to Education Act in private schools was discussed. Along with this, the responsibilities of the officials were also fixed for the future.
Chief Education Officers in all districts were directed to provide a detailed report of admissions under RTE from private schools to the Directorate General of Education. Apart from this, they have been asked to inspect private schools along with government schools. The special thing is that it has also been clarified that in whichever schools the standards will not be followed, action will be taken by the department against such educational institutions.
It was also made clear to the state officials that action will also be taken against the officers if there is no admission in the schools under the Right to Education Act. For this, the responsibility of the Chief Education Officer at the district level and Block Education Officers at the block level has been fixed.
This time, major action can also be seen against private schools to strictly follow the Right to Education Act. This is because complaints have been received about private schools not giving admission to students under it. In such a situation, it has also been clarified that action will also be taken to cancel such schools by issuing notices. Apart from this, the officials were also instructed to review it from time to time.
Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that in this case, the officials have also been asked to conduct surprise inspections of schools. It has also been made clear that the condition of the teaching staff and basic facilities as well as resources in various schools should be looked at. So that action can be taken against schools that do not meet the standards.
Complaints about such schools are also received in the Child Rights Protection Commission. Therefore, it has been asked to work on the recommendations given by the commission.
