Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday felicitated women’s and youth groups for their commendable work in various fields at Parade Ground, Dehradun, on the occasion of National Youth Day. The groups that secured first, second, and third prizes were awarded Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 50,000, and Rs. 25,000 respectively. Mahila Mangal Dal Dhapla, Nainital received the first prize, Mahila Mangal Dal Sema, Chamoli the second, and Mahila Mangal Dal Banali, Tehri Garhwal the third prize. Similarly, Yuvak Mangal Dal Mokh Malla, Chamoli received the first prize, Yuvak Mangal Dal Sundarpur Raikwal, Nainital the second, and Yuvak Mangal Dal Chaurirai Champawat the third prize. Besides this, the winners of the speech competition and NSS Award winners were also honored. On this occasion, the NSS handed over a check of Rs. 2,24,320 to the Chief Minister for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid homage to Swami Vivekananda and said that Vivekananda was a visionary sage who rekindled the consciousness of cultural nationalism within a nation shackled by the chains of subjugation. His historic address in Chicago not only introduced the Western world to India’s spiritual power but also conveyed the message to the entire world that the welfare of all humanity lies in the knowledge, wisdom, and values of the Sanatan culture. He had unwavering faith in the power of youth and considered them the most powerful medium for the resurgence of the nation.
The Chief Minister said that no nation can develop economically, socially, politically, and culturally until its youth power is organized, self-reliant, and inspired by the spirit of nationalism. Youth power is the greatest asset of our nation, which has the potential to realize the dream of a strong, prosperous, and self-reliant India through its hard work, talent, and determination. With the right direction and guidance, this energy will not only enable the country to emerge as an economic superpower but also re-establish itself as a world leader.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuously working towards realizing the resolve of building a developed and self-reliant India. Today, through various schemes like Startup India, Skill India, Digital India, Make in India, Fit India, and the New Education Policy, opportunities are being provided to the youth according to their talent and potential. The state government is also working with full commitment to empower, enable, and make the youth self-reliant. Through the new startup policy, efforts are being made to encourage the startup culture in the state. Through schemes like the Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme, Chief Minister Youth Promotion Scheme, Chief Minister Skill Development Scheme, and Deendayal Upadhyaya Rural Skill Development Scheme, training and technical support are being provided to the youth, along with financial assistance.
The Chief Minister said that the employment landscape is changing rapidly. Due to technological innovations and global changes, new employment opportunities are being created, and old ones are disappearing, therefore, we have to make our youth future-ready. The Chief Minister said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has been the land of Sanatan culture, consciousness, philosophy, and spirituality. Swami Vivekananda also attained knowledge by performing penance in various regions of the holy land of Uttarakhand. The government has decided to identify all those places and build a Swami Vivekananda Corridor in the state.
Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Rekha Arya said that Swami Vivekananda was a man of multifaceted talent. He established the supremacy of Sanatan values and Indian culture in the world. His teachings and the spirit of nationalism will always inspire us. Rekha Arya said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, work is being done in every sector in the state to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve of a developed India by 2047.
