Dehradun: The cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has concluded. The cabinet meeting, which started at 11 am at the Secretariat, lasted for about an hour and a half. A total of 8 proposals were approved during the cabinet meeting. Before the start of the Dhami cabinet meeting, condolences were expressed on the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash. A two-minute silence was also observed for the peace of the souls of those who died in the plane crash.
Among the main decisions, the Health Worker and Health Supervisor Service Rules 2026 of the Medical Health and Family Welfare Department have been approved. Under this, health workers of the health department who have completed 5 years of service will get the opportunity for transfer within the district through mutual consent. Meanwhile, under the Revenue Department, the process for acquiring land from landowners for projects in Uttarakhand state on the basis of mutual agreement has been determined.
Other key points of the cabinet meeting:
- Amendment to the government order regarding the transfer of 1354.14 acres of Parag Farm land in Udham Singh Nagar to SIDCUL for the development of an industrial estate.
- Approval for the promulgation of the Uttarakhand Tribal Welfare Gazetted Officer Service (Amendment) Rules, 2025. Approval for the amendment of the departmental structure. Under this, considering the need for posts for the operation and better implementation of departmental schemes in the Scheduled Tribe-dominated districts of Dehradun, Chamoli, Udham Singh Nagar and Pithoragarh, a restructuring of the departmental structures has been agreed upon.
- Decision to implement water price/charge rates on the extraction of groundwater for non-agricultural use in Uttarakhand state.
- Approval for the promulgation of the Uttarakhand Green Hydrogen Policy 2026 to promote green hydrogen production in the state. The decision will be taken under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary.
Decision regarding education: The Uttarakhand Private Universities Act, 2023 has been amended. The cabinet has approved the establishment of a university under the name GRD Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, it has been agreed in high-level meetings between the Indian Air Force, the Ministry of Defence, and the Uttarakhand government that the Gauchar and Chilyalisaur airstrips will be transferred to the Ministry of Defence on the basis of being designated as Advanced Landing Grounds for joint civilian and military operations.
