Dehradun: BJP’s Gadarpur MLA Arvind Pandey, embroiled in controversy over land grabbing, met with DGP Deepam Seth at the Dehradun Police Headquarters on Friday. During the conversation, he demanded a narco and polygraph test in the case filed against his family members for land grabbing.
Arvind Pandey Demands Narco and Polygraph Tests from the DGP: “I have not discussed whether this case is true or false. But narco and polygraph tests should be conducted on both parties so that the truth can be revealed,” Pandey said. He also demanded that if any of his family members are found guilty, strict action should be taken against them. He also stated that until the investigation is complete, they are considered land mafias according to the case.
A case has been filed against the Arvind Pandey family in a land dispute: It should be noted that on January 20th, Bajpur police filed a case against four people, including Devanand Pandey, brother of Gadarpur MLA Arvind Pandey, on charges of fraudulent land grabbing. Sanjay Bansal, a resident of Bahadurganj village, filed a complaint at the police station, stating that he owned land in Mundia Pistour village. He had mutually agreed to lease the land to a resident of Majhra Baksh for work and maintenance.
Arvind Pandey family received a notice: On August 21st, 2025, the authority summoned him to the site. He was issued a show-cause notice for new construction on the land, stating that the construction was illegal and that it should be demolished. The MLA’s brother, along with other associates, threatened him not to appear on the land again and threw away photocopied documents. Sanjay Bansal stated that he was told to read the documents, as the land belonged to him. He stated that the accused conspired to usurp the land by creating a fraudulent lease agreement, and that he was also threatened.
Arvind Pandey calls the case a deliberate conspiracy: Gadarpur MLA and former minister Arvind Pandey stated that:
The purpose of meeting with DGP Deepam Seth today is to demand a narco-based test and a polygraph test in the case filed against his family members for land grabbing. He did not meet with the DGP to have the case dismissed, but rather to have the matter investigated. This is a deliberate conspiracy to brand him a “land mafia.” Until the investigation is complete, I am considered a land mafia under the case.

Arvind Pandey said he is not going to run away from the investigation: BJP MLA Arvind Pandey also stated that he is not going to run away from the investigation, but rather wants the truth to come out. He has demanded from the DGP that narco-based tests and polygraph tests be conducted on both parties in this case.
Arvind Pandey has been marginalized in the second term of the Dhami government: BJP MLA Arvind Pandey has been in the headlines in Uttarakhand for quite some time. Former Education and Sports Minister in the previous BJP government, Arvind Pandey has had a troubled career since the beginning of the current Dhami government. He repeatedly openly criticized the administration on several issues in his home district of Udham Singh Nagar during the Dhami government’s tenure, while currently alleging conspiracies against him. Political circles are also linking this to internal strife within the BJP.
Recently, during Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Uttarakhand, several senior BJP leaders, including former Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat, expressed their support for Arvind Pandey. It was being said that the controversy surrounding Arvind Pandey had reached the central government, and that there was turmoil within the Uttarakhand organization due to ministers, MLAs, and senior BJP leaders remaining dissatisfied with the Dhami government. However, Trivendra Rawat and Anil Baluni did not visit Arvind Pandey again.
