Big news for UPNL employees, Dhami government issues order for equal pay for equal work

Dehradun: After a long wait, the Uttarakhand government has finally issued an order for equal pay for equal work for UPNL employees. The UPNL Employees’ Organization had been agitating for this demand for a long time. After the government’s assurance, the employees ended their protest and strike. Now, the government has finally issued orders for equal pay for equal work for the employees in April. The government has taken this decision in accordance with the court orders.

Secretary of Sainik Kalyan, Dipendra Chaudhary, has issued this order on behalf of the Government of Uttarakhand. November 12, 2018, has been kept as the cut-off date in this order. According to the order issued by the government, the salary for unskilled workers has been fixed at Level One, for semi-skilled workers at Level Two, for skilled workers at Level Four, for highly skilled workers at Level Seven, and for officers at Level 10 of the basic salary scale.

Meanwhile, Vinod Godiyal, President of the UPNL Employees Federation, expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for this decision of the government. He also thanked all the cabinet ministers and the members of the committees formed for the salary increase of UPNL employees. He said that today the Uttarakhand government has taken a historic decision in favor of UPNL employees. He and the entire Employees Federation express their gratitude to the government for this.
