Dehradun: In Uttarakhand, changes have been made to the responsibilities of secretariat service officers, in addition to IAS and PCS officers. However, reports of a transfer list being released had been circulating for some time. Consequently, the state government has now issued an order regarding changes to other responsibilities, including the district magistrates of various districts.
Transfers of IAS, PCS, and secretariat service officers: The Uttarakhand government has once again released a transfer list. Discussions regarding this matter have been ongoing for some time, but now, changes have been made to the responsibilities of some IAS officers, PCS officers, and secretariat service officers.
Rudraprayag DM Prateek Jain removed: The most prominent name on the list is Prateek Jain, who was recently appointed as the district magistrate of Rudraprayag, but has been removed from this post within a short time. Notably, as District Magistrate, he was recently in the news for a religious controversy.
The Uttarakhand government has once again made changes to the responsibilities of officers from the Indian Administrative Service, State Civil Service, and Secretariat Service. Six IAS officers have been reassigned in this transfer list. Similarly, the names of four PCS officers have also been included in this transfer list.
According to the transfer list, IAS officer Sanjay Kumar has been stripped of his responsibilities as Director of Employment. Similarly, 2016-batch IAS officer Saurabh Gaharwar has been given the additional responsibilities of Additional Secretary, Industries, and Director, Government Printing Press.
In the transfer list, 2016-batch Narendra Singh Bhandari has been given the additional responsibility of Director of Employment, in addition to Additional Chief Executive Officer, Tourism Development Council.
2017-batch Vinod Giri Goswami has also been given the additional responsibilities of Additional Secretary, Housing, and Chief Executive Officer, Bhagirathi River Valley Development Authority.
Rudraprayag District Magistrate Prateek Jain has also been removed from the district. He has now been appointed Managing Director of the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam and Mission Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Similarly, after 2018-batch IAS officer Prateek Jain was removed from Rudraprayag, Vishal Mishra, also from the 2018-batch, has been appointed District Magistrate of Rudraprayag.
PCS officer Girdhari Singh Rawat has now been appointed Additional Secretary, Minority Welfare, as well as Director, Minority Welfare, and Director, Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Council. Suresh Joshi of the Secretariat Service has been given the additional responsibility of Additional Secretary, Census.
Kavinder Singh of the Secretariat Service has been appointed Additional Secretary, Program Implementation Department. Trilok Singh Martolia has been given the additional charge of Managing Director, Sugar Mill, Kichha.
Abj Prasad Vajpayee has been appointed City Magistrate, Haldwani. PCS officer Kamlesh Mehta has been appointed Deputy Collector, Tehri Garhwal.
Vishal Mishra, a 2018-batch IAS officer of the Uttarakhand cadre, has been appointed as the new District Magistrate of Rudraprayag. He previously held the positions of Managing Director of GMVN, Mission Director of Jal Jeevan Mission, Project Director of Namami Gange, and Project Director of KfW Project.
Prateek Jain has been appointed as Managing Director of GMVN, Mission Director of Jal Jeevan Mission, Project Director of Namami Gange, and Project Director of KfW Project. IAS Vishal Mishra is known for his innovative administrative thinking and development-oriented initiatives.
He studied engineering at HBTU Kanpur and earned an M.Tech in Water Resources Engineering from IIT Kanpur. Mishra has previously held important positions in Almora and Udham Singh Nagar districts. He was also involved with the Kosi River Project, where his work was lauded.
