Dehradun: To curb the rapidly increasing crime in Uttarakhand, the police have become stricter. A verification campaign will now be launched across the state. The campaign will target suspects. Illegal foreign nationals, infiltrators, Bangladeshis, and suspicious outsiders will be identified and strict action will be taken.
The verification campaign will involve police, Special Task Force (STF), Special Operations Group (SOG), and LIU units. This campaign will focus on home delivery agents, industrial areas, residential apartments, PG hostels, ashrams, gyms, and spa centers. Special teams will be formed at the police station level, and regular reviews will be conducted, ensuring accountability.
DGP tightens law and order: On the instructions of DGP Deepam Seth, intensive verification has been initiated to further strengthen law and order in the state and control suspicious individuals. This special campaign will be conducted at the circle, police station, and outpost levels in all districts of the state.
Under the campaign, individuals residing in multi-story apartments, ashrams, dharamshalas, rented houses, flats, PGs, home-stays, hotels, and guest houses will be verified. Property dealers, real estate agents, and brokers will also be verified. Tenancy contracts entered into through them will be scrutinized.
Strict legal action will be taken against those who grant tenancies without police verification or harbor suspicious individuals. A special verification campaign will be conducted for home delivery services, delivery agents associated with e-commerce platforms, security agency staff, cab operators, and contractors in industrial areas. Priority will be given to the identification and verification process of employees.
Advanced technological tools and central databases will be used to identify suspicious individuals during the campaign. Information matching and accurate analysis will be conducted through the National Intelligence Grid (NATGRID), CCTNS, and ICJS, as well as other central and state security portals.
Illegally Residing Immigrants Will Be Identified: Illegal immigrants, especially illegal immigrants, Bangladeshis, and foreign nationals overstaying their visas, will be identified and strict action will be taken against them under relevant legal provisions.
The availability, functionality, and recording systems of high-resolution CCTV cameras will be checked in all residential areas, malls, shopping complexes, service centers, coaching institutes, gyms, schools, universities, transport agencies, beauty parlors, and salons. Deployed security personnel will undergo character verification and receive necessary security briefings.
Attention will be given to the safety of single and senior citizens: In addition, single and senior citizens residing in the areas will be identified and their security arrangements will be evaluated. Compulsory verification of domestic helpers, caretakers, drivers, and other support personnel will also be conducted.
During the campaign, the district police, local intelligence unit, SOG, and Special Task Force will conduct coordinated operations. Information received will be analyzed and coordination with other state and central agencies will be established as needed. Special field teams have been formed at each police station level. A review system has been implemented from the CO to the IG Range level.
