Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the sports world is reaching new heights. Inspired by him, sports talent in the state is receiving not only the necessary resources but also a platform during the tenure of the double-engine government.
As a result, talented athletes from the state are shining on national and international platforms. The government is moving forward to establish Uttarakhand as both a land of gods and a land of sports.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said at the closing ceremony of the Chief Minister’s Championship Trophy held in Nanurkheda on Wednesday that sports events have become a powerful medium to recognize the hidden sports talent in the Nyaya Panchayats and remote mountainous regions. He said that earlier, talent in the state was dying due to lack of resources.
The situation has changed under the double engine government. If players have talent, they are not allowed to lack resources. Players have been promoted by introducing a new sports policy. He said that due to the planned development of modern and world-class infrastructure, Uttarakhand is making its mark among the leading states of the country.
The government is working on the Sports Legacy Plan. Many provisions have been made in the sports policy for the facilities of players. Now, medal winners are also being given horizontal reservation in government services. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Rekha Arya was also present on this occasion.
