Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a detailed review of the preparations for Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s proposed visit to Haridwar on March 7. During a high-level meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Sunday, he directed officials to ensure that all arrangements are completed in a timely, well-organized, and dignified manner.
The Chief Minister stated that during the Home Minister’s visit, all arrangements related to security, traffic management, public facilities, and inter-departmental coordination must function smoothly. He made it clear that negligence at any level would not be tolerated.
Emphasizing that Haridwar is an important religious and cultural city, the Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure that devotees and the general public do not face any inconvenience during the program. He directed authorities to maintain tight security, prepare an effective traffic management plan, strengthen parking arrangements, and ensure better coordination among concerned departments.
He also instructed officials to ensure adequate arrangements for cleanliness, drinking water, electricity supply, and healthcare services at the event venues.
The meeting was attended by Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, Haridwar District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, and senior officials from the concerned departments. Officials briefed the Chief Minister on the progress of preparations and the work being carried out by various departments.
The Chief Minister directed all officials to regularly monitor every arrangement to ensure that the Union Home Minister’s Haridwar visit is conducted successfully and in an orderly manner.
