Dehradun: A vibrant display of Holi colors was witnessed at the Chief Minister’s residence on Monday. Folk artists and Holi singers from across the state created a festive atmosphere with their performances. Jaunsari artists performed the traditional Harul dance, while a group of Kumaoni Holi singers presented Holi songs. On this occasion, people applied colors to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and extended Holi greetings.
The courtyard of the Chief Minister’s residence remained immersed in Holi celebrations throughout the day. Groups of folk artists and cultural performers from different parts of the state arrived while singing traditional Holi songs. Artists from Garhwal, Kumaon, and Jaunsar regions enhanced the event with their traditional songs and dances. The accompaniment of drums, manjiras, and other traditional musical instruments made the Holi songs even more captivating.
Artists from Kumaon enlivened the atmosphere with songs like “Aao Dagadiyo, Nacha Gawa, Aa Gayi Rangeeli Holi,” while a cultural troupe from the Rath region of Pauri district presented the song “Aayi Dandyu Basant, Daali Ma Moulyar,” mesmerizing the audience.
People attending the event were seen immersed in the colors of folk culture. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also joined the artists in celebration and enjoyed dancing with them.
On the occasion, folk artists from various regions stated that the state government is doing commendable work in promoting folk culture and providing protection to folk artists.
