Expenditure-Finance Committee Meeting Approves Several Key Development Projects

Dehradun: To accelerate development work across various districts of the state, a meeting of the Expenditure-Finance Committee was held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan. Several important projects were discussed and approved during the meeting.

Under AMRUT 2.0 Tranche-2, the Sahastradhara Drinking Water Scheme was approved. The project will be implemented through the Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan, which is expected to improve drinking water supply in the area.

In addition, a revised proposal for the construction of a barrage in the Satpuli area of Pauri Garhwal district was also approved. The project is expected to strengthen water management and regional development.

The meeting also approved the construction of residential buildings of various categories at the Fire Station in Haldwani. Meanwhile, the construction of a new office building for the Directorate of Urban Development on Sahastradhara Road in the Danda Lakhond area of Dehradun also received approval.

Similarly, the proposal for the reconstruction of the main office building of Rudrapur Municipal Corporation was approved.

Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan instructed officials to ensure that all approved projects are completed with transparency, quality, and within the stipulated time frame. He also emphasized maintaining environmental balance and long-term sustainability during project implementation.

The meeting was attended by Secretaries Nitesh Jha, Shailesh Bagoli, S. A. Adanki, and Yugal Kishore Pant, along with senior officials from related departments.
