Dehradun: A review meeting of the Uttarakhand Climate Resilient Rainfed Farming Project was held to assess its progress and strengthen rain-dependent agriculture in the state while addressing the challenges of climate change.
The High Power Committee meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, approved the annual action plan of ₹187.11 crore for the financial year 2026–27.
During the meeting, the physical and financial progress of the project so far was reviewed in detail. The committee also approved a revised action plan of ₹62.19 crore for the financial year 2025–26.
Approval for Operational System
The committee also approved the project’s operational guidelines, financial management system manual, and several necessary forms and instruction booklets prepared for smooth implementation of the project.
Plans to Be Based on Local Needs
The Chief Secretary directed officials to prepare plans at the village level according to local requirements while keeping the project objectives in mind, so that maximum villagers can benefit.
He said that considering the impact of climate change, it is essential to make rainfed agriculture more sustainable and resilient.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from various departments, including secretaries associated with the project, the project director, and representatives from financial management.
