Phool Dei Festival Celebrated at CM Residence; CM Dhami Extends Greetings

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami celebrated Uttarakhand’s traditional folk festival Phool Dei with his family at the Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday and extended greetings to the people of the state.

The festival was celebrated with traditional customs. Children dressed in traditional attire offered flowers and rice at the house doorstep and prayed for everyone’s happiness and prosperity. They also sang traditional folk songs such as “Phool Dei-Chamma Dei, Jatuke Diyala-Utuke Sai.”

The Chief Minister welcomed the children, presented them with gifts, and conveyed his best wishes for the festival.

He said that the Phool Dei festival symbolizes the rich folk culture, traditions, and respect for nature in the state. He added that the festival marks the arrival of spring and conveys the message of nature’s beauty and renewed energy in life.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the folk culture and traditional festivals of Uttarakhand are an important cultural heritage and preserving them is a collective responsibility. He appealed to people to celebrate such festivals enthusiastically so that future generations remain connected to their traditions and culture.

He also said that the Phool Dei festival, which conveys gratitude toward nature and celebrates the arrival of spring, inspires people to stay connected with their roots. On this occasion, his wife Geeta Pushkar Dhami was also present.
