Nainital: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan inspected ongoing construction works including the Bhowali–Rati Ghat bypass, Bhowali bypass, and development works in the Kainchi Dham area to find a permanent solution to traffic congestion.
He directed officials to make the bypass operational before the tourist season. During the inspection of the Kainchi Dham bypass (Sanatorium–Rati Ghat route), he reviewed the progress and instructed officials to speed up the work so that traffic can begin before June.
Until the permanent motor bridge is completed, he directed that a temporary valley bridge be installed to ensure smooth movement during the tourist season.
He emphasized that a large number of devotees visit Kainchi Dham from across the country and abroad, making improved traffic management a priority.
According to officials, out of the total 18.15 km bypass, about 8 km has been completed and is operational, while work on the remaining stretch is progressing rapidly.
The Chief Secretary also inspected tourism development and beautification works in the temple area, including parking arrangements and infrastructure improvements under various government schemes.
