Dehradun: A meeting of the Expenditure Finance Committee was held at the Secretariat on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan. Several important proposals related to the Urban Development Department, Drinking Water Department, and Public Works Department were approved.
During the meeting, approval was given for the construction of multistory parking facilities at Neelkanth Mahadev in Pauri Garhwal and Ramnagar in Nainital. The total cost of the proposed parking at Neelkanth Mahadev is ₹5,183.65 lakh, while the cost for Ramnagar is ₹3,857.64 lakh. The Chief Secretary directed that all guidelines related to parking construction be strictly followed, with special attention to technical aspects such as turning radius for entry and exit.
He also instructed that a geotechnical survey of the land must be conducted before construction at Neelkanth Mahadev and that special attention should be given to the aesthetic design of the building.
Four proposals from the Drinking Water Department were also approved. These include the Pipalkoti Nagar Panchayat drinking water scheme (₹2,438.32 lakh), Tilwara Nagar Panchayat drinking water scheme (₹3,986.24 lakh), and Ukhimath Nagar Panchayat drinking water scheme (₹2,578.52 lakh). Additionally, the sewer line project for Lalkuan Nagar Panchayat (₹37.95 lakh) was approved. The Chief Secretary instructed that meters be installed in gravity-based water supply schemes and that the sewer line project be completed within the stipulated time.
The committee also approved the Kathgodam bypass road project of the Public Works Department. Under this project, a 3.5 km road and a 75-meter span bridge will be constructed on the national highway at a cost of ₹1,177.93 lakh.
Senior officials including Secretary R. Rajesh Kumar, Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Dilip Jawalkar, and Ranveer Singh Chauhan were present at the meeting.
