Dehradun: Political activity in Uttarakhand has intensified over leaders switching parties. Responding to the controversy after some leaders joined Congress, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami rejected Congress’s claims outright.
He said that the individuals whom Congress is projecting as BJP leaders were not current members of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He added that some had been expelled years ago, while others distanced themselves from the party after contesting elections.
Targeting the Indian National Congress, the Chief Minister said that attempts are being made to mislead the public. He stated that BJP workers will go across the state to present the correct facts to the people.
Recently, several leaders from Uttarakhand joined Congress at an event in New Delhi. These reportedly include former MLA Rajkumar Thukral, Narayan Pal, Bhim Lal Arya, former mayor Gaurav Goyal, Lakhan Singh, and Anuj Gupta.
Political analysts believe that with the upcoming assembly elections, party-switching activities may increase, and political rhetoric is likely to intensify further.
