Dehradun: In the case of firing and death of a retired Brigadier in Rajpur police station area, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken strict action. Expressing नाराजगी (anger) on the incident, the Chief Minister has given instructions to suspend with immediate effect Sub Excise Inspector Soban Singh of Mussoorie Area-3 and Kuthal Gate outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector Ashok Kumar.
The Chief Minister clearly said that any kind of compromise with law and order in the state will not be tolerated. He instructed officials to run intensive checking campaign across the state and take strict action against people involved in hooliganism and illegal activities.
CM Dhami also said that road rage, firing incidents and illegal activities running till late night should be completely controlled. He told police and administration to take strict action while keeping public safety as top priority.
What is the whole matter
It is being told that on the morning of 30 March, a dispute over bill happened in a night club located in Johri village of Rajpur police station area. This dispute increased and reached from मारपीट (beating) to firing. It is alleged that some youths riding in a Scorpio without number plate opened fire on a Fortuner car associated with ‘Gen G Club’.
During this, 70-year-old retired Brigadier Mukesh Joshi, who had gone for morning walk, came under firing, due to which his death happened.
CCTV footage came सामने (forward)
CCTV footage of the incident has also come forward. Police has arrested three accused from one side and one accused from the other side in the case, while four other accused are being told absconding. According to police, most of the accused involved in the incident are students.
In investigation, it has also come forward that the concerned club was open till about 2:30 late night and at that time many students were present there.
Anger among local people
After the incident, heavy anger was seen among people in the area. Local people expressed their नाराजगी (anger) regarding law and order in front of police officials who reached the spot and demanded strict action.
