Dehradun: In a major anti-corruption action in Uttarakhand, a Deputy Education Officer posted in the Doiwala area of Dehradun and his female associate were caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh. This is being seen as a strong example of the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.
According to reports, the case is linked to RTE reimbursement. Acting on a complaint, the vigilance department conducted a trap operation and caught both the officer and his associate while taking the bribe. Legal proceedings have been initiated against them.
The government has repeatedly made it clear that corruption will not be tolerated at any level. Monitoring has been strengthened across departments to ensure transparency and accountability, and complaints are being acted upon swiftly.
Experts believe such actions strengthen public trust in the administration and help ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach people without obstruction.
