Delhi Govt Transfers 33 IAS and DANICS Officers; G Narendra Kumar Appointed Financial Commissioner

New Delhi: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Delhi government on Thursday transferred and posted 4 IAS and 29 DANICS officers, including several key administrative appointments across finance, industry, urban development, and social welfare departments.

The reshuffle includes senior IAS officers of the AGMUT cadre as well as multiple Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service (DANICS) officers, aimed at filling vacancies and improving administrative efficiency across departments.

G Narendra Kumar Appointed Financial Commissioner

Senior IAS officer G Narendra Kumar has been appointed as the Financial Commissioner of Delhi.

He was earlier awaiting posting and now takes charge of one of the most important financial administration roles in the Delhi government.

Prashant Goyal Gets Key Administrative Charge

Prashant Goyal has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies Department, with additional charge of:

  • Administrative Reforms Department
  • Power Department

These departments are considered critical to Delhi government’s governance and infrastructure planning.

Sonika Singh Appointed DDA Commissioner

Sonika Singh, who earlier served as Special Secretary-cum-Private Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, has been transferred and appointed as Commissioner of Delhi Development Authority (DDA).

The DDA plays a key role in urban planning, land development, and housing projects in the capital.

Somya Saurabh Gets Additional Charge

Somya Saurabh, currently serving as District Magistrate of North West Delhi, has been given additional charge as Special Secretary (Industries).

This adds industrial policy responsibilities to her existing district-level administrative role.

Major Changes in DANICS Cadre

The reshuffle also includes significant postings of DANICS officers:

  • Navlendra Kumar Singh (2006 batch) → Additional Commissioner (GST)
  • Mangal Siani (2022 batch) → Superintendent, Central Jail
  • Om Prakash Saini (2025 batch) → Deputy Secretary, DSSSB
  • Harshit Jain (2014 batch) → Assigned Census 2027 preparatory responsibilities

Officials said many young DANICS officers were awaiting postings, while several positions were lying vacant, prompting the restructuring.

District-Level Administrative Shake-Up

The order also includes transfers and changes among:

  • Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs)
  • Additional District Magistrates (ADMs)
  • District Magistrates (DMs)

These changes are aimed at improving coordination at the district governance level.

Objective Behind the Reshuffle

According to officials, the reshuffle has been carried out to:

  • fill vacant administrative posts
  • streamline governance
  • improve departmental efficiency
  • assign responsibilities to awaiting officers

The move reflects routine administrative restructuring within the Delhi government.
