Nainital/Bhimtal: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the three-day technical and cultural fest ‘Spectrum 2026’ at Birla Institute of Applied Sciences and made several major development announcements.
He announced the creation of a sub-tehsil in Bhimtal. Additionally, an Ayurvedic hospital will be set up in Bheedapani (Okhalkanda), and X-ray and ultrasound machines will be installed in various health centers.
To strengthen agriculture, markets will be developed in Ramgarh, Dhari, and Okhalkanda, while cold storage facilities will be built in Letibunga and Satbunga. Mini stadiums will also be constructed in Kakod and Dadim to promote sports.
During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Computer Science and Engineering Department and appreciated students’ innovations.
He also announced ₹50 lakh each for setting up a drone lab, upgrading the computer department, and providing furniture for the auditorium.
In his address, he described youth as the backbone of nation-building and said the government is continuously promoting education, innovation, and skill development, including modern subjects like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data under the new education policy.
