Dehradun: On the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi, a delegation from the Sikh community paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s residence. During the meeting, the delegation honored the Chief Minister by presenting a saropa and extended their festive greetings.
Several dignitaries, including Hemkund Sahib Trust President Narendrajeet Singh Bindra, were present at the meeting. The delegation appreciated the decisions taken by both the central and state governments for the welfare of the Sikh community. They especially described the Hemkund Sahib ropeway project as historic, stating that it would provide significant relief to pilgrims.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated everyone on Baisakhi and said that the festival symbolizes social unity, prosperity, and a spirit of service. He added that the Sikh community has always played an important role in nation-building.
CM Dhami said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, rapid progress is being made in connectivity and infrastructure in Uttarakhand. He described the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor as a new gateway for the state’s development, which will boost tourism, trade, and employment.
The Chief Minister called the Hemkund Sahib ropeway project a blend of faith and modernity, stating that it will make the pilgrimage safer, smoother, and more time-efficient. It will also strengthen the local economy.
He added that the state government is fully committed to the safety and convenience of Sikh pilgrims and is continuously expanding facilities along the pilgrimage routes.
In conclusion, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that with the joint efforts of the central and state governments, Uttarakhand will achieve new dimensions of development and strengthen its identity among the leading states of the country.
