Rudraprayag Press Club completes 20 years; CM Dhami says welfare of journalists is a priority

Rudraprayag (Uttarakhand): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended a program marking 20 years of the Rudraprayag District Press Club. He reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare, safety, and dignity of journalists.

He said the 20-year journey of the Press Club reflects a strong and inspiring story of journalism dedicated to public service. Calling journalism the fourth pillar of democracy, he emphasized its role in promoting awareness and transparency.

The Chief Minister said the government is continuously taking concrete steps to safeguard the interests of media personnel and also highlighted welfare and respect for senior citizens as a priority.

On this occasion, along with the Governor, he also laid the foundation stone of multipurpose buildings at the Lok Bhavan complex in Dehradun. The project includes four buildings offering healthcare services, an information center, a cafeteria, and offices of various departments in a single campus.

The buildings will follow traditional hill architecture. The Governor said this initiative will simplify administrative functioning and improve service delivery to the public.

The Chief Minister called it an important step toward good governance, adding that it will enhance inter-departmental coordination, promote local resources, and strengthen Uttarakhand’s cultural identity.
