Dehradun: In a strong example of responsiveness, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami personally visited the Jakhan area on Friday to verify complaints registered on the CM Helpline.
A local resident, Vivek Madan, had lodged a complaint regarding a damaged footpath on Rajpur Road after underground electrical lines were laid. The complaint stated that the फुटपाथ was dug up during the work but not properly restored, causing tiles to sink and inconvenience to the public.
Even before the review meeting, the Chief Minister reached the spot, inspected the situation, and, along with the complainant, made a video call to officials to show the real condition on the ground. He expressed displeasure over the negligence.
He clearly instructed that all departments must work in coordination. He said incomplete and unplanned work causes repeated inconvenience to the public and leads to wastage of government funds. He also pointed out that exposed wires at several places despite underground cabling pose a serious safety risk.
The Chief Minister directed Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan to identify such issues across the state and launch a special campaign for their resolution. He added that he will continue to conduct surprise inspections in the future to ensure effective redressal of public grievances.
During the visit, the Chief Minister also interacted with local shopkeepers and residents and listened to their concerns.
