Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial sanction of ₹59.72 crore for various development projects in the state. These projects are expected to strengthen drinking water supply, flood protection, disaster management, and infrastructure.
Focus on drinking water and infrastructure
₹14.57 crore has been approved for the Tamli Gram Group Pumping Drinking Water Scheme in Champawat district. ₹25.78 crore has been sanctioned for the Ukhimath Nagar Panchayat drinking water scheme. The Haldwani-Kathgodam drinking water project will also benefit from this allocation.
Boost to flood protection works
The first installment of ₹2.43 crore has been released for embankment construction along both sides of the Asan River in the Harbhajwala area of Dehradun.
Additionally, ₹1.29 crore and ₹3.03 crore have been sanctioned for flood protection works along the Suswa River in Dharampur and the Bhagirathi River in Jhala village of Uttarkashi, respectively.
Approval for bridges and roads
₹1.74 crore has been approved for the reconstruction of a damaged pedestrian bridge on the Joshimath–Niti road.
Funds have also been sanctioned for slope protection in Pithoragarh, Haridwar, and Nainital districts, safety works on the Harsil–Mukhwa route, and flood protection works in Doiwala and Raipur areas.
Education and other development works
Approval has been given for the construction of five new classrooms at PM Shri Adarsh Inter College in Bharadisain, Chamoli, which will strengthen educational facilities.
Approval for Information Department
The Chief Minister has approved a budget of ₹299.18 crore for the Information and Public Relations Department. Additionally, ₹1 crore has been sanctioned for Scheduled Caste welfare and ₹50 lakh for tribal sub-plan initiatives.
He also approved the proposal to promote Assistant Directors Archana and Badri Chand to the post of Deputy Director.
