Strict action against those spreading fake news on Char Dham Yatra; FIR lodged over misleading video

Dehradun/Rudraprayag: The Dhami government has taken a strict stance against those spreading misinformation about the Char Dham Yatra being conducted under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Police have initiated action against attempts to defame the pilgrimage through misleading videos and rumors on social media.

During social media monitoring in Rudraprayag district, a misleading video came to notice falsely claiming that devotees were being denied दर्शन at Kedarnath Dham. Taking the matter seriously, an FIR has been registered against the concerned individual at Sonprayag police station, and legal action has begun.

According to the administration, 4–5 more suspicious videos have also been identified. These are under investigation, and strict action will be taken against the culprits as per the law.

Conspiracy to defame Char Dham Yatra exposed
The state government clarified that the Char Dham Yatra is being conducted in a well-organized, safe, and successful manner. Devotees are being ensured smooth दर्शन through proper arrangements for facilities, healthcare, traffic management, disaster safety, and digital monitoring.

The government stated that any kind of misinformation, rumor, or propaganda regarding the yatra will be dealt with under a zero-tolerance policy. Social media platforms are being monitored 24×7, and strict legal action will be taken against those spreading false information.

Strong message from CM Dhami
Chief Minister Dhami clearly stated that no one will be spared for playing with the faith, devotion, and dignity of Uttarakhand and the Char Dham Yatra. He appealed to devotees and the general public to rely only on official sources and avoid sharing unverified or misleading content.

The government and police are fully alert against any conspiracy to disrupt the Char Dham Yatra and are continuously tightening action against those spreading misinformation.
