Major review by Chief Secretary on Kumbh 2027 preparations, forest fires, and gas supply; strict instructions issued to officials

Dehradun: A meeting of the Secretaries’ Committee was held on Monday at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, reviewing several important issues including preparations for Kumbh 2027, forest fire control, and LPG gas supply.

The Chief Secretary directed that government orders related to Kumbh 2027 be issued promptly so that construction works can be completed on time. He instructed concerned departments to accelerate preparations and ensure all processes are expedited.

While reviewing the forest fire situation, the Chief Secretary directed the Uttarakhand Forest Department to continuously reduce forest fire response time. He instructed deployment of senior officers district-wise to strengthen monitoring and control at the ground level. Strict action was also ordered against those deliberately setting fires in forests.

The meeting also reviewed the status of LPG supply in the state. The Chief Secretary instructed District Magistrates to continuously monitor demand and supply and take necessary action to prevent black marketing. He emphasized ensuring that common consumers do not face any inconvenience.

Senior officials including Principal Secretaries R. K. Sudhanshu, L. Fanai, and R. Meenakshi Sundaram were present. The meeting emphasized strengthening coordination and monitoring of various administrative arrangements at the government level.
