Dehradun/Uttarkashi: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha held in Nagan village of Barkot tehsil and experienced the spiritual atmosphere along with local residents. He listened to the discourse and prayed for the prosperity and welfare of the state.
The event was organized on the occasion of the annual shraddha (death anniversary ritual) of the late Uma Ji, wife of BJP Media In-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that listening to the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha awakens wisdom and knowledge and is also considered important for the peace of ancestors’ souls.
He stated that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, Sanatan culture has gained a new identity in the country. He cited works such as the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya as symbols of cultural resurgence.
Calling Uttarakhand “Devbhoomi” (Land of the Gods), he said that it is home to the Char Dham and that the state government is continuously working on the development of pilgrimage sites. After the reconstruction of Kedarnath, development work in Badrinath Dham is progressing rapidly under a master plan.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also assured the construction of a community hall (barat ghar) in Nagan village on the request of the village head. Cabinet Minister Khajan Das, former Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, MLAs, administrative officials, and a large number of local people were present at the event.
