Dhami Cabinet Approves 16 Posts for State’s First Women’s Sports College, Classes to Begin from July

Dehradun: The Dhami Cabinet has approved the creation of 16 new posts, including that of Principal, for the operation of Uttarakhand’s first Women’s Sports College. The college will begin classes from July this year. The institution is being constructed in Lohaghat, Champawat, at a cost of more than ₹250 crore.

According to departmental officials, the state government has taken rapid steps to ensure the college starts on time. The Dhami Cabinet approved the proposal in its meeting, ensuring the availability of necessary human resources. For the smooth functioning of the college from July, Manoj Sharma, Principal of Sports College Pithoragarh, has been given additional charge of the new college in Lohaghat.

The admission process for the college is already underway. The creation of these 16 posts will help ensure smooth operations of the institution. This move is expected to help nurture women sports talents in the state and provide them opportunities to gain recognition at national and international levels.

Posts to Be Created in the College

The 16 posts approved for the Women’s Sports College include one Principal post. Three Sports Teacher posts and three Assistant Sports Teacher posts have also been sanctioned. The approved positions also include one PTI-cum-Warden, one Sports Manager, and one Physiotherapist. Other posts include one Junior Assistant, one Assistant Warden, two attendants, and two ground staff positions. All these posts are considered important for the academic, administrative, and sports-related functioning of the college.
