Grand Redevelopment of Maa Varahi Dham to Boost Religious Tourism: CM Dhami

Dehradun/Devidhura: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the historic and renowned Maa Varahi Shaktipeeth Dham in Champawat district and conducted an on-site inspection of the temple redevelopment and construction works. He also reviewed the progress of the ongoing project in detail.

The Chief Minister said that Maa Varahi Dham is not only a center of faith but also a symbol of Uttarakhand’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. He clarified that the development of the shrine will preserve its original mythological significance and traditional architecture while providing modern facilities to devotees.

Dhami said that in the coming years, Maa Varahi Dham will emerge as a major center of national and international religious tourism. This will promote tourism activities in the region and create employment and self-employment opportunities for local youth.

Under the project, the temple is being grandly reconstructed at an estimated cost of around ₹15 crore. The work is expected to be completed within the next two to three years by the Char Kham Saat Thok and Maa Varahi Shaktipeeth Trust. Special carved stones from Rajasthan will be used, while architectural and craftsmanship work will be carried out under the supervision of expert artisans from Gujarat.

The Chief Minister also offered prayers at Maa Varahi Temple for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state.

During the inspection, several public representatives and officials, including Manish Kumar, Rekha Yadav, and Govind Samant, were present.
