Khatima: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday interacted with Panchayat and municipal representatives during the “Jan Jan Ki Sarkar, Mukhyamantri Samvad Karyakram” organized at the Development Block Auditorium in Khatima. During the interaction, he highlighted the government’s schemes and achievements related to rural development, employment, basic facilities, law and order, and cultural preservation.
The Chief Minister said that the soul of India resides in its villages and real progress of the country is possible only when villages and towns become self-reliant and prosperous. He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unprecedented work is being carried out in the field of rural development. Through schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, National Rural Livelihood Mission, and the Swachh Bharat Mission, rural areas are being strengthened.
He said the state government is working to strengthen the local economy through initiatives such as “One District-Two Products,” “House of Himalayas,” the State Millet Mission, Apple Mission, Kiwi Mission, the new tourism policy, and the homestay scheme. The Chief Minister stated that more than 265,000 women in the state have become “Lakhpati Didis.”
CM Dhami referred to development works carried out in the Khatima region and said that projects such as the Gadarpur-Khatima bypass, Nausar Bridge, modern bus stand, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Chakarpur Sports Stadium, ITI, Polytechnic College, and a 100-bed hospital have been completed. He added that construction of a military memorial between Khatima and Tanakpur will also begin soon.
The Chief Minister said the government is committed to protecting the state’s cultural identity and demography. He claimed that action against “land jihad” has resulted in freeing more than 12,000 acres of government land from encroachment and removal of over 550 illegal mazars.
He said the government has implemented an anti-cheating law to make recruitment processes transparent. More than 32,000 youths have been provided government jobs over the past four years, and over 100 cheating mafias have been sent to jail.
Referring to the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), the Chief Minister said the government is committed to ensuring equal rights and justice for all citizens. Several public representatives and officials were present at the program.
