Rudrapur: Faraz Miyan, a resident of Sitarganj in Udham Singh Nagar, has secured the 6th rank in the UKPCS 2024 and has been selected for the post of Deputy Collector.
Currently serving as a Review Officer in the Tourism Department at the Uttarakhand Secretariat, Faraz continued preparing for competitive examinations while working full-time. He attributed his success to hard work, discipline, and a well-planned strategy.
According to Faraz, there is no shortcut to success in competitive examinations. He focused on repeatedly studying a limited set of books and paid special attention to Uttarakhand General Knowledge and current affairs. Regular reading of local Hindi newspapers helped him develop a better understanding of state-related issues.
This is not his first achievement. He had earlier cleared the UKSSSC Junior Assistant examination, secured the 4th rank in the Secretariat Review Officer Recruitment Examination 2024, and topped the Election Commission Review Officer Recruitment Examination 2025. He has also qualified the UKPSC Lower PCS examination, with his interview scheduled for next month.
Faraz completed his schooling at Government Inter College, Sitarganj, earned a B.Sc. from Government PG College, Khatima, and later completed an MBA from University of Lucknow.
He credits his success to family support and guidance. His sister is currently serving as a lecturer at a Government Inter College in Nainital.
