CM Dhami Launches 3-B Garden at CM Residence to Protect Bees, Butterflies, and Birds

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the development of a unique 3-B Garden (Bee-Friendly, Butterfly-Friendly and Bird-Friendly Garden) at the Government Garden located within the Chief Minister’s residence by planting a Krishna Banyan (Vat) sapling.

The garden is being designed to promote the conservation of bees, butterflies, and birds while enhancing biodiversity and natural pollination. A wide variety of pollinator-friendly plant species are being planted, and the entire area will remain free from pesticides and other harmful chemicals to preserve the natural ecosystem.

The Chief Minister said the initiative would not only encourage beekeeping but also strengthen biodiversity conservation and raise public awareness about environmental protection.

The garden includes species such as jamun, mulberry, drumstick, kadamba, camphor, hibiscus, guava, neem, bamboo, tulsi, lavender, sunflower, rosemary, and mint. Himalayan species including banj oak, buransh (rhododendron), bay leaf, and paya have also been planted to enhance the natural beauty of the premises.

Dhami directed the Horticulture Department to prepare a detailed action plan for expanding beekeeping activities in and around the Chief Minister’s residence and appreciated the ongoing environmental and biodiversity initiatives in the area.

The event was attended by Shailesh Bagauli, Dr. R. K. Singh, Deepak Purohit, and other officials.
