Tehri Garhwal: On the second day of his two-day district visit, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan conducted surprise inspections of educational institutions, nutrition centres, libraries, and sports facilities in the Baurari area.

During the inspection, he directed officials to ensure effective implementation of schemes related to children’s health, education, and sports development. He reviewed the Government Model Primary School, Dhoongidhar Anganwadi Centre, Sridev Suman Library, and Baurari Stadium.

At the Anganwadi Centre, he reviewed nutrition programs, health checkups, vaccination status, and the availability of play materials. Nutrition kits were distributed to pregnant and lactating women, and children’s weights were monitored. He instructed ANMs and ASHA workers to ensure regular vaccination and health checkups through door-to-door outreach.

At the Government Model Primary School, he reviewed the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, student attendance, furniture, and academic arrangements. He appreciated the efforts being made to provide quality education.

While inspecting Sridev Suman Library, he emphasized the preservation of rare books, records, and historical manuscripts. Officials informed him that the library, established after displacement from old Tehri, houses extensive literature from the royal era to modern subjects and benefits researchers and competitive exam aspirants.

At Baurari Stadium and the proposed badminton hall construction site, he reviewed the quality and progress of work and directed officials to complete projects within the stipulated timeframe.

On World Environment Day, the Chief Secretary planted Jacaranda saplings along with local representatives, promoting environmental conservation.
