Dehradun/Kashipur: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami virtually inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various development projects worth ₹25.19 crore in Kashipur on Friday. He stated that the state government is committed to the holistic development of Kashipur and is rapidly expanding modern infrastructure facilities.
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for three projects and inaugurated two completed projects. He announced that work has begun on a plan worth approximately ₹34 crore for the construction and beautification of eight major intersections to ease traffic congestion in Kashipur.
He said that the Stadium T-junction on the route to Nankana Sahib will be developed as “Nankana Sahib Chowk,” with ₹3.35 crore sanctioned for its beautification. Additionally, ₹4.30 crore has been approved for the beautification of Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Chowk, and first-phase work has already commenced.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated repair and construction works worth ₹16.81 crore on the Kashipur-Ramnagar National Highway (NH-309). He further inaugurated a modern open gym built at Kashipur Stadium at a cost of ₹24 lakh and a prefabricated structure constructed at the Regional Office of the Udham Singh Nagar Development Authority at a cost of ₹49.24 lakh.
Highlighting future development, CM Dhami stated that a 133-acre Electronic Manufacturing Cluster Park is being developed in Kashipur, with 16 industrial units already allotted. This is expected to create significant employment opportunities for local youth.
He added that over ₹494 crore has been approved for the four-laning of the Kashipur-Ramnagar road, while construction of a three-kilometre mini bypass has also begun. Projects worth nearly ₹1,950 crore related to drinking water, sewerage, road improvement, and sewage treatment are progressing rapidly in the region.
