Dehradun: Dr. Pravin Bhai Togadia, founder of the International Hindu Council, who arrived in Dehradun to participate in the Hindu Swabhiman Conference, congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 12 years in office and praised several achievements of his government. He also commended Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state.
Highlights Achievements of the Modi Government
Dr. Togadia said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has created history by becoming the country’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister. He noted that Article 370 was abrogated under Modi’s leadership and that significant progress has been made in controlling Naxalism.
He expressed confidence that the central government would take effective action against illegal Bangladeshi infiltration in the future and continue working toward providing employment opportunities for youth and ensuring fair prices for farmers’ produce.
Congratulates CM Dhami on Implementing UCC
Responding to questions about the Uttarakhand government’s performance, Togadia praised Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), describing it as a positive step. He said that the state government is taking significant initiatives in this direction.
Objection to Non-Hindu Entry and Trade in Char Dham
In his address, Dr. Togadia stated that non-Hindus should be prohibited from entering and conducting business in the Char Dham pilgrimage sites. He urged the Chief Minister to take strict measures in this regard and said that the religious and cultural identity of Char Dham should be preserved.
Concern Over Alleged Illegal Infiltration in Mountain Regions
Speaking at the Hindu Swabhiman Conference, he expressed concern about alleged illegal infiltration in Uttarakhand’s hilly regions. According to him, timely and effective action is necessary on this issue; otherwise, demographic changes and security-related challenges may arise in the future.
He also called upon society to unite and work collectively for cultural preservation, social harmony, and issues concerning national interest.
