Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden demise of Padma Shri awardee, internationally acclaimed shooter, and coach Jaspal Rana. The passing of the 49-year-old sports icon is being described as an irreparable loss for both Uttarakhand and Indian sports.
CM Dhami said that through his exceptional talent, hard work, and historic achievements, Jaspal Rana brought glory not only to Uttarakhand but to the entire nation on the international stage. He established a distinct identity in the field of shooting and inspired countless young athletes to pursue excellence in sports.
The Chief Minister noted that Rana’s contributions will always be remembered not only as a distinguished athlete but also as a successful coach. Under his guidance, many young shooters achieved success at national and international levels.
In his condolence message, CM Dhami described Jaspal Rana’s death as an irreparable loss to the sporting community, Uttarakhand, and the nation. He prayed for the peace of the departed soul and wished strength and courage for the bereaved family, friends, and admirers during this difficult time.
Jaspal Rana was among India’s most successful shooters, winning numerous international medals throughout his career. Later, as a coach, he played a significant role in taking Indian shooting to greater heights.
