President Murmu Reviews Her Dream Project; Rashtrapati Udyan to Be Ready by November, Giving Dehradun a New Identity

Dehradun: President Droupadi Murmu, who arrived to attend the Passing Out Parade at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), also inspected the Rashtrapati Udyan, a project considered to be one of her dream initiatives. The President reviewed the progress, quality, and timeline of the construction work in detail and directed officials to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.

Although adverse weather conditions and strong winds in Dehradun prevented the President from spending much time at the park site, she sought feedback from officials on every aspect of the project. Her active monitoring reflects the special importance she attaches to this initiative.

Expected to Be Completed by November

The Rashtrapati Udyan, being developed over an area of approximately 132 acres, is rapidly taking shape. The administration aims to complete the project by November and open it to the public. Once completed, it will provide Dehradun with a world-class green and cultural destination, boosting both tourism and the local economy.

Foundation Stone Laid in 2025

President Droupadi Murmu laid the foundation stone for this ambitious project in June 2025. Since then, construction has been progressing under the supervision of the Central Public Works Department (CPWD). The project is being developed with a blend of modern amenities and natural beauty.

A New Hub for Tourism and Culture

The Rashtrapati Udyan is being designed to offer visitors a combination of nature, culture, recreation, and wellness facilities within a single complex. Its completion is expected to strengthen Dehradun’s identity at the national level and make it a major tourist attraction.

What Did DM Ashish Chauhan Say?

Dehradun District Magistrate Ashish Chauhan stated that construction is progressing as scheduled and, based on the current pace, the project is likely to be completed by November. He added that the President is personally reviewing the project regularly and that all work is being expedited in accordance with her directions.

Dehradun’s Landscape Will Change

The Rashtrapati Udyan is not just a park but is expected to become a new symbol of Dehradun. It will enhance tourism, cultural activities, local employment opportunities, and the city’s green image. The project is being regarded as a significant milestone in Uttarakhand’s modern and ambitious development plans.
