Gadarpur/Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted an on-site inspection of the preparations for the upcoming International Kayaking and Canoeing Competition to be held in Gadarpur, Udham Singh Nagar district. He reviewed the arrangements being made for athletes, including security measures, technical management, transportation, accommodation, and other essential facilities.
The Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to ensure that all preparations for this international-level event are completed on schedule and in accordance with prescribed standards. He emphasized that athletes, coaches, referees, and participants arriving from India and abroad should not face any inconvenience and that all departments must work in close coordination.
CM Experiences Water Sports Activities
During the inspection, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami personally participated in and experienced water sports activities. On the occasion, he stated that Uttarakhand possesses immense potential for adventure sports and that the state’s natural environment is highly suitable for water sports, mountain sports, and other adventure activities.
A New Dimension for Sports and Tourism
The Chief Minister said that the state government is making continuous efforts to establish Uttarakhand’s identity at both national and international levels in the field of sports. Along with providing athletes with better training, modern facilities, and larger platforms, the government is also promoting the organization of international sporting events.
He added that such events not only provide young athletes in the state with opportunities to showcase their talent but also inspire them to compete and excel on the global stage.

CM Dhami noted that international sporting events contribute not only to the growth of sports activities but also to tourism, local businesses, employment opportunities, and overall economic development. He said that such initiatives would further strengthen Uttarakhand’s reputation as a leading adventure tourism destination and allow visitors from India and abroad to enjoy both the state’s natural beauty and its sporting attractions.
Strict Instructions on Arrangements
The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure high-quality arrangements at the competition venue, including cleanliness, drinking water facilities, medical services, security, and traffic management. He stressed that the event should serve as an example of Uttarakhand’s excellent work culture and hospitality.
On the occasion, MLA Arvind Pandey, officials from concerned departments, and several other dignitaries were also present.
