Dehradun: Ahead of International Yoga Day, which will be observed on June 21, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami practiced yoga on Thursday at the Chief Minister’s residence along with government officials and employees. He described regular yoga as the foundation of a healthy, balanced, and positive life and urged all citizens to make it a part of their daily routine.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s ancient yoga tradition has gained new recognition and respect worldwide. Today, yoga is widely accepted as an effective means of promoting physical health, mental peace, and overall well-being.
He emphasized that yoga is not only a way to keep the body healthy but also a powerful tool for developing mental balance, self-discipline, and a positive lifestyle. Regular yoga practice helps individuals lead a stress-free, energetic, and disciplined life.
CM Dhami appealed to the people of Uttarakhand to participate in large numbers in various programs being organized on International Yoga Day and play an active role in spreading the message of yoga to every section of society.
He added that yoga has a significant role in building a healthy society and a developed nation and should be promoted as a mass movement.
