Dehradun: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan on Friday reviewed the Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Externally Aided Projects, NABARD-funded initiatives, and the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) schemes for the financial year 2026–27 at the Secretariat. He directed all departments to finalize their quarterly targets and upload them on the IFMS portal at the earliest.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary instructed the Finance Department not to impose any budget ceiling on livestock, fisheries, and other livelihood-based departments under NABARD schemes. He emphasized that the maximum benefits of these programs should reach Vibrant Village areas to generate local employment opportunities.
He also directed the Planning and Finance Departments to keep project proposals worth ₹2,000–3,000 crore ready in advance. Departments were asked to prepare a tentative shortlist of priority projects and continuously submit quality proposals to the government for approval.
Special emphasis was laid on strengthening educational and healthcare infrastructure through NABARD’s Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF). The Education and Health Departments were instructed to focus on upgrading schools and hospitals, highlighting that improved education and healthcare services remain a key state priority.
During the review, the Irrigation Department was directed to prepare and submit financial timelines for the Song and Jamrani Dam projects and ensure continuous monitoring according to fixed deadlines.
The Chief Secretary also instructed the Irrigation Department and Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency to ensure that the benefits of the PM-KUSUM scheme reach a larger number of farmers. The Principal Secretary (Energy) was asked to convene a coordination meeting with both departments at the earliest.
The Transport Department was directed to develop a comprehensive network of electric vehicle charging stations along all major tourist routes in the state, including the Char Dham Yatra corridors. He also instructed that these charging stations be integrated with Google Maps so that EV users can easily locate them during travel, thereby promoting EV-based tourism in Uttarakhand.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, PCCF Kapil Lal, Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, and other senior officials.
