Roorkee: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday inaugurated the newly constructed Sports Complex in Roorkee. During his visit, he inspected the state-of-the-art sports facilities and actively participated in various sporting activities, encouraging young people to embrace fitness and sports.
After inaugurating the complex, the Chief Minister visited the gymnasium, where he ran on a treadmill and also exercised on the butterfly machine. He later interacted with children at the badminton court on the second floor of the facility and played a friendly game of badminton with them.
Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami said that the state government is continuously working to provide world-class sports infrastructure for the youth. He added that modern sports facilities are being developed across Uttarakhand to help talented athletes compete successfully at national and international levels.
Cabinet Minister Pradeep Batra, Roorkee Mayor Anita Agarwal, Haridwar-Roorkee Development Authority (HRDA) Vice Chairperson Sonika, Secretary Pratyush Singh, along with other public representatives and officials, were also present on the occasion.
