Dehradun: In a major step toward strengthening Uttarakhand’s healthcare system with advanced technology, the Central Government has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uttarakhand Government. The agreement was signed on Monday at Kartavya Bhavan in New Delhi between the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Uttarakhand Government.
The MoU was signed on behalf of Uttarakhand by Health Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey in the presence of Aradhana Patnaik, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
Under the agreement, Uttarakhand will receive four MRI machines, five Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) mammography machines, and 75 Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled portable handheld X-ray machines through the Prime Minister’s Fund. These advanced medical devices will expand diagnostic facilities in government hospitals and help provide timely and improved treatment to patients.
Patients in remote and mountainous regions will particularly benefit from the AI-based portable handheld X-ray machines, enabling them to access diagnostic services closer to their homes and facilitating early detection and treatment of serious illnesses.
National Health Mission (NHM) Uttarakhand Mission Director Sandeep Tiwari, along with officials from the Central and State Governments, was also present on the occasion.
