Union Minister Cycles Through Mussoorie with IAS Trainees, Promotes ‘Fit India’ Campaign

Mussoorie: Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya gave fresh momentum to the Fit India Movement on Monday morning by leading a cycling rally with IAS Officer Trainees (Batch of 2024) at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie.

The rally began from the academy campus, passed through Academy Road, Hallock Road, and Company Garden, before returning to the academy. Dr. Mandaviya personally cycled alongside the trainee officers throughout the route, while local residents and tourists cheered the participants.

Addressing the gathering, the Union Minister said that a healthy body is the greatest strength for effective leadership and efficient governance. He emphasized that future civil servants must remain physically and mentally fit, as healthy administrators are better equipped to make sound decisions and serve the public with greater sensitivity.

Dr. Mandaviya urged young people to reduce excessive screen time and make activities such as sports, yoga, running, and cycling a part of their daily routine. He said using bicycles for short-distance travel not only improves personal health but also contributes significantly to environmental conservation and pollution reduction.

The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie is India’s premier training institution for IAS officers, where candidates selected through the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) undergo foundational training for the Indian Administrative Service.
