At Mumbai Convention, CM Dhami Highlights Five Years of Development, Investment, Employment, and Cultural Preservation

Dehradun/Mumbai: Addressing a convention of the Uttarakhand diaspora in Mumbai, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami outlined the state’s development journey and future vision, describing people of Uttarakhand living across India and abroad as the state’s greatest cultural ambassadors and brand ambassadors. He said the experience, investment, and support of the diaspora are playing a vital role in building a developed and self-reliant Uttarakhand.

The Chief Minister said the state government has institutionalized diaspora participation through the formation of the Pravasi Uttarakhand Parishad (Uttarakhand Diaspora Council). Through this platform, members of the diaspora are actively contributing to education, healthcare, tourism, investment, innovation, and rural development. He added that 27 Non-Resident Uttarakhandis have so far adopted 29 ancestral villages, supporting initiatives related to education, healthcare, and livelihoods.

CM Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is progressing rapidly on the path of development. He highlighted flagship initiatives such as One District–Two Products, House of Himalayas, the State Millet Mission, Apple Mission, Kiwi Mission, the Homestay Scheme, and Wed in Uttarakhand, stating that these programmes have provided fresh momentum to the state’s local economy.

He noted that Uttarakhand has secured first place in NITI Aayog’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index, earned the ‘Achievers’ category in the Ease of Doing Business rankings, and been recognized as a ‘Leader’ in the national startup rankings. Through the Global Investors Summit, the state received investment proposals worth more than ₹3.76 lakh crore, of which investments exceeding ₹1 lakh crore have already been grounded.

The Chief Minister also emphasized that the government remains committed to preserving the state’s cultural heritage and social values alongside economic development. He said measures such as the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), the anti-cheating law, the anti-conversion law, and a zero-tolerance policy against corruption are strengthening good governance.

CM Dhami urged members of the Uttarakhand diaspora to continue contributing to the state’s development through their knowledge, experience, investments, and social initiatives. The conference was attended by office-bearers of diaspora organizations, representatives from the business community, and a large number of Uttarakhand natives residing in Mumbai and surrounding regions.
