Dehradun: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan reviewed the progress of the Kedarnath Reconstruction and Redevelopment Project and the Badrinath Master Plan at the Secretariat, directing officials to complete all works within the prescribed timelines. He instructed authorities to immediately begin construction of the six proposed new blocks at Kedarnath Dham and ensure regular monitoring of every project.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary conducted a detailed review of the physical and financial progress of ongoing reconstruction works at Kedarnath. After assessing project-wise timelines, he instructed officials to expedite execution.
He also directed the District Magistrate of Rudraprayag to prepare a comprehensive and integrated solid waste management plan for the Kedarnath pilgrimage area to ensure efficient waste disposal during the yatra. He assured officials that the state government would provide all necessary financial, technical, and administrative support for the initiative.
The Chief Secretary also reviewed the Phase I and Phase II works under the Badrinath Master Plan. He instructed officials to accelerate all construction activities according to schedule and simultaneously begin artwork and other supporting works to prevent delays in project completion.
Emphasizing long-term sustainability, Bardhan directed officials to establish clear arrangements for the operation and maintenance of newly created infrastructure and public assets at both pilgrimage sites. He instructed the concerned District Magistrates to identify the agencies responsible for managing these facilities even before project completion to ensure a smooth transition after handover.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Dheeraj Garbyal, Additional Secretary Vineet Kumar, and the District Magistrates of the concerned districts.
